Mark Mitchell, a forward who played basketball for Duke for two years, was not included in this year’s NBA Draft pool or transfer portal.
Between his time as a Blue Devil and at Missouri, Mark Mitchell has been selected to start every game he has participated in, with the exception of the 2023–24 Duke basketball team’s defeat against Georgia Tech in early December.

The 6-foot-9, 230-pound forward, who spent the first two years of Duke’s Jon Scheyer era in Durham, is now set to be a key player under fourth-year Missouri head coach Dennis Gates in the next campaign after his debut with the Tigers.
The deadlines for transfer portal and NBA Draft entrants have passed, with no mention of Mark Mitchell this time. In other words, all indications are that the 21-year-old from Kansas City, Kan., a former five-star prep, is completely committed to spending his final year in Columbia, Mo.

As a junior, Mitchell averaged 13.9 points, 1.9 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.8 blocks for Missouri, which went 22-12 overall and 10-8 in SEC play. His 4.7 rebounds were a minor decrease from his 6.0 boards per game as a Duke basketball sophomore, as were his 50.5 field goal percentage and 26.0 percent three-point clip as a Tiger.

Mitchell was one of seven Blue Devils who left Durham through the gateway last year. This time around, Jon Scheyer and his team accomplished an increasingly rare feat: they did not lose a single scholarship player to transfer.
