ALARMING: Rangers transfers to ‘get worse’ in stark new warning to fans at Ibrox

Rangers have been warned that they could face another disappointing season next season.

The atmosphere in Govan was electrifying after the 49ers and Andrew Cavenagh completed their takeover in May.

However, they face a difficult task in swiftly turning around the Ibrox club’s fortunes, having ended 17 points behind Celtic last season.

The new majority owners are anticipated to back Russell Martin in making big changes to Auchenhowie’s team, with Max Aarons the lone loan signing thus far.

Jackson warns Rangers in a new transfer update.

The Light Blues had a disappointing season under Philippe Clement and later Barry Ferguson, who was appointed interim manager.

Keith Jackson has warned the Gers that they cannot cure all of their problems and catch Brendan Rodgers’ team in a single transfer window.

In the print version of the Daily Record (page 49, 30 June), when asked if there should be alarm over only one signing so far, he said: “They’re going to have to be patient.

“The Rangers are far behind schedule since the takeover took far longer than anticipated.

“It may worsen before it improves. It certainly won’t be resolved in a single transfer window.”

The 49ers can begin the Rangers’ rebuild this summer.

The Gers are expected to lose Hamza Igamane, as Ibrox News understands Lille have reached a double agreement with the Moroccan over contract terms and his readiness to join.

They may also face a battle to keep Nico Raskin and Mohamed Diomande, who have attracted serious attention from the Premier League.

However, they may not be a disaster; the new ownership may be able to provide Martin a significant war fund for new moves while banking roughly £70 million.

That would necessitate the correct signings in a variety of areas, and if they get it wrong, it might lead to another disastrous campaign the following season.

They have already signed Aarons and have been linked with Metinho, Matija Frigan, and Dor Turgeman, but none of them will guarantee success in Govan; they are all gambles.

Ultimately, Jackson is correct; it will most certainly become worse before it gets better, and supporters must be patient and give them time to get it right, as they have with Leeds United.

As the phrase goes, Rome was not built in a day, and the Rangers will not be created in a single window.
