Rangers have already had an active start to the transfer window
No corners have been cut when it comes to recruitment at Ibrox ahead of Russell Martin’s first season in charge so far, with five new additions confirmed.
The 49ers are simply not messing around, with the latest signing of Thelo Aasgaard confirmed after Rangers paid a sizeable fee for the midfielder.
The Gers’ pursuit of a winger is also a priority, with a bid for Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi potentially materialising in the coming weeks.
Forwards needed at Ibrox ahead of new campaign
Rak-Sakyi is not the only winger to be linked with a move to Glasgow, with David Brooks also mentioned after his proposed transfer to West Brom recently collapsed.
Rangers have already invested heavily in their midfield and defence with the likes of Max Aarons and Joe Rothwell joining, making the need to bolster their forward line a priority for the rest of the window.
Writing in the print edition of the Daily Record (7 July, pg 47), Keith Jackson says the final third needs to be addressed next, with big money likely to be spent on three additions.

“They need to concentrate on the top end of the team now, with two wingers and at least one striker top of the agenda,” he wrote.
“That’ll be the expensive part of this rebuild, but absolutely essential,” Jackson said.
Jamie Vardy could be the man to fill the void up front for Rangers next season, with the Light Blues in pole position to sign the Premier League winner after his move to Genoa fell through.
Signing Vardy would be a risk
Vardy is coming off a relatively impressive personal campaign when considering Leicester’s relegation, with the striker scoring nine goals and notching a further four assists in the Premier League.
However, at 38 years of age, a dramatic decline could suddenly happen in any season Vardy plays in from now until his retirement.
His leadership qualities would undoubtedly be a useful attribute for Martin, but whether Vardy is still capable of firing Gers back to the top of the Scottish Premiership remains to be seen.
