Tottenham’s Cristian Romero has shared a message with fans following the club’s Europa League victory, amid ongoing speculation about a possible transfer to a LaLiga powerhouse.

Romero was instrumental in Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Europa League final in Bilbao, earning Man of the Match honors and helping secure a clean sheet.

He was later named Europa League Player of the Season for his standout performances throughout the tournament.

Romero did not feature in Tottenham’s final Premier League game, a 4-1 home loss to Brighton, which saw the team finish a surprising 17th in the league — though they still secured a Champions League spot by winning the Europa League.

Last month, when asked about his future and reported interest from Atletico Madrid, Romero said his focus remains on “growing and seeking new opportunities for development.”

The Argentine recently shared a social media post reflecting on Tottenham‘s Europa League triumph, which marked the club’s first major trophy in 17 years. In his message, he emphasized the importance of unity and urged the team to keep pushing forward for more success.

“As a team, we achieved our goal this season, and that’s what truly matters,” Romero wrote. “And… my name is now part of the history of this amazing club.

 

“I’m grateful for the love and support every day, through all the ups and downs. I truly believe our unity is what brought us to this success.

 

“We must keep going—this is the way forward.”

 

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou, whose own future at the club is uncertain, highlighted the importance of retaining the World Cup-winning defender.

 

“I think it’s absolutely vital that we keep Romero at this football club,” Postecoglou said after the final Premier League match of the season. “You’ve seen the kind of player he is—despite dealing with a toe injury, he’s shown his class. He’s a World
