We are almost into July and new boss Russell Martin knows there is still a lot of work to do on the recruitment front
Brighton teenager Zebedee Lawson looks to be on the verge of sealing a move to Rangers after the player’s agent posted a teaser pic from Ibrox on social media.
The 16-year-old forward has caught the for the Seagulls youth team and his said to be highly thought of at the AMEX Stadium but is now set to head north of the border after the two clubs agreed a deal.
Zebedee was said to be on the radar of several top teams but his representative Keith Gillespie has now taken to Instagram to hint that an announcement on his transfer to Rangers is imminent.
Sharing an image from inside the tunnel at Ibrox, Gillespie captioned the photo with a pen emoji followed by the word “incoming.”
New Light Blues boss Russell Martin has welcomed two new faces to the club so far this summer, with Max Aarons arriving on loan after Lyall Cameron completed his move from Dundee, while talks are ongoing to bring Conor Coady north of the border from Leicester.
Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises have pledged £20million to spearhead Rangers’ recruitment drive as supporters dream of some big names coming through the doors at Auchenhowie ahead of the new season.
And one man who has been tentatively linked with a move to Ibrox is former Tottenham and Manchester United star Christian Eriksen. The Denmark international will leave Old Trafford at the end of his contract this month, where he will be available on a free transfer.

The new Gers hierarchy could see the 33-year-old as an ideal marquee signing to help kick off their new era in Govan, with England legend Chris Waddle tipping him to join up with Martin’s men.
But reports in Turkey now claim that Besiktas are very keen on the midfielder. Fotomoc claim that head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjær wants to bring the ex Tottenham and Inter Milan playmaker to Istanbul to add some much-needed experience to his ranks.
Meanwhile, FC Twente midfielder Michel Vlap admits he would love the chance to play alongside Robin Propper again.
The Eredivisie side want to bring the defender back to the Netherlands less than 12 months after selling the player to Rangers, with Propper – who featured in Gers 1-0 behind-closed-doors friendly loss to Welsh minnows TNS on Saturday – set to sit down with boss Martin to discuss his future.
FC Twente head coach Joseph Oosting and technical director Jan Streuer have both gone on record about their hopes of seeing the player pull on the red jersery again and that sentiment has now been echoed by ex Holland youth international Vlap, who told Voetbal International: “Robin is a top player and personality, everyone would be happy if he were back here.”
Another player who faces an uncertain future at Ibrox this summer is Ecuadorian flop Jose Cifuentes. The midfielder spent the whole of last season on loan at Greek outfit ARIS and helped them qualify for Europe in his 29 league appearances.
But the forgotten Gers man has now confirmed he will be returning to Glasgow after Aris were not able to come up with the £3milliion required to sign him on a permanent basis.
In a farewell to his loan club Cifuentes, 26, said: “Thank you Aris. To teammates, coaching staff, fans and club staff, it was a pleasure to spend the season with you, a season full of challenges, which has now come to an end.
“From my family and I, we thank you for everything we have experienced and we wish you the best for the new season.”
Cifuentes still has two years left of his deal at Ibrox following his £1.2 million transfer from Los Angeles FC in 2023.
