After an injury blow, Arsenal can replace Mohamed Elneny with a perfect free transfer.

ARSENAL might be able to land the ideal free agent

Arsenal can lessen the impact of losing Mohamed Elneny to injury by signing Florian Grillitsch, a player from Austria. The 27-year-alleged old’s interest in the Gunners earlier this year may be rekindled at this time.

Elneny will need to spend a significant amount of time recovering from a serious hamstring injury he sustained in Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Fulham. The Egyptian was only added to the lineup to replace Thomas Partey, who was unable to play due to a thigh injury he sustained during practice.

Partey is only anticipated to be out for a few weeks, but since joining the team from Atletico Madrid in 2020, he has a history of injuries. Elneny was a dependable back-up option for the Ghanaian star, so Mikel Arteta will suffer greatly from his absence.

Grillitsch, however, may present the ideal chance to add to Arsenal’s roster in a position where they are currently lacking. The Gunners allegedly added Grillitsch to their list of targets for this summer, according to a report in The Telegraph in April.

The talented star is currently without a club after leaving German club Hoffenheim at the end of his contract. Grillitsch is primarily a midfielder, though he can play at center back.

In the absence of Elneny and Partey, Arsenal will need a player with experience playing in a deeper-lying position. Grillitsch joined Hoffenheim in 2017 from Werder Bremen, where he made over 150 appearances over a five-year span.

Since making his Austrian debut that same year, he has accrued 33 victories in caps. By acquiring Grillitsch for nothing, Arsenal might be able to free up additional funds to sign a winger.

Mikel Arteta has prioritized a wide player. Despite Wolves‘ high asking price, Pedro Neto is the top target this transfer window.

Arteta revealed last week that he has been planning to sign a winger all summer after Nicolas Pepe’s loan to Nice. “If we can carry out the plan that we have, we’ll try to do that,” he said.

“In the plan, that [Pepe’s loan move] was something that could happen; now it’s a reality, and we’ve been putting in the work over the past two months to get where we want to go. We’ll have to wait and see whether that’s feasible.
