Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist argue on talkSPORT, whether Leeds United should be promoted

The question of whether Leeds United will receive automatic promotion to the Premier League following Leicester City’s victory against Southampton on Tuesday (April 23) has caused controversy between Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist.

The Foxes stretched their lead over the Whites to four points at the top of the league with a 5-0 thumping of fellow promotion contenders Southampton at the King Power Stadium, making a very loud message.

Ipswich Town does have a game in hand on the other two clubs, and it appears like the Whites and the Tractor Boys are vying for the second automatic position.
Brazil stated during a live broadcast on talkSPORT on Wednesday, April 24, at 6:23 a.m.: “It appears that Leicester, along with either Ipswich or Leeds, are going up automatically.”

McCoist cut him off, saying, “I believe you’re a little bit arrogant there. With two games remaining, Leicester is only five points ahead of third place.

Brazil responded to the current Championship standings by saying, “Leicester is up, away you go!” Two of the three are either Ipswich, Leeds, or Leicester. Leicester and Ipswich will advance, while Leeds and Southampton will play in the playoffs.
“No, not yet,” McCoist shot back. “With three games remaining, they’re on 94 points, Leeds have 90, and Ipswich have 89.” Leeds advances if they win both and Ipswich draws one.

Can Leeds United surpass Ipswich Town and Leicester City to get automatic promotion?
The Saints are currently five points behind Ipswich and have been swiftly disqualified from the automatic promotion spots by rival supporters after their 5-0 thrashing.

Conversely, Leeds, having gone three games without a victory, got back on track on Monday, April 22, by winning a thrilling seven-goal battle against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.

Daniel Farke’s team will face two very challenging final games: one at QPR and the other at Southampton. However, it will be very important to play the Saints at Elland Road on the final day of the season.

With back-to-back wins over West Brom and Southampton, Enzo Maresca’s team appears to have found their form at the ideal time. Many believe that only second place is possible.
Farke’s prior Norwich City experiences need to be the decisive element in deciding whether Leeds makes it to the Premier League or drops out of the playoff picture.

The Elland Road supporters will be eager to miss the thrilling games and would much rather watch those matches from the beach because many fans are aware of the risks associated with the playoffs.

In other Leeds United news, Goodman hinted that against Boro, it might be time for a young player to make his league debut.
