Kane joined Bayern Munich in the summer for almost £100 million.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has disclosed that the club included a buy-back clause in the deal to transfer Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.
Spurs grudgingly negotiated a package worth at least £100 million with Bayern last month rather than risk their record goal-scorer going out of contract and departing for nothing in a year’s time.
Kane spent two decades at Spurs after arriving as a kid, and in a video greeting to fans following his move to Bayern, he hinted at a potential reunion, saying: “It’s not a goodbye, because you never know how things pan out in the future… I’ll see you later.”
Levy said Spurs had the option to buy back Kane in the future when speaking at a fan forum on Tuesday alongside manager Ange Postecoglou, new captain Heung-min Son, women’s head coach Robert Vilahamn, and Lioness Bethany England.
“There is a buy back clause,” remarked the chairman.Kane claimed that he will constantly keep an eye on Spurs’ progress ahead of Bayern Munich’s Champions League start against Manchester United at home on Wednesday.
“I’m always keeping an eye on them, and I’ll keep an eye on Tottenham for the rest of my life,” Kane said of the club.
“I’m really happy to see the team playing the way they are, and it’s great to see the fans happy.” They’ve got a big game coming up [Arsenal on Sunday], so I’ll be interested to see how they progress over the season.”
