Donny van de Beek will be loaned to Lorient by Manchester United.

Donny van de Beek is apparently considering a loan offer from Ligue 1 team Lorient, but Manchester United has accepted the offer.

According to GFFN, Donny van Beekde  has apparently been offered to Lorient, but the decision is complicated. The £36 million playmaker might quit Manchester United to pursue options elsewhere, although he might decide against joining the French team.

Since joining Manchester United, Donny van de Beek‘s performance has significantly declined. Since the playmaker’s £36 million move from Ajax, either a decline in form or injury issues have kept him off the club roster.

During his tenure at Manchester United, he too experienced a miserable loan season, but nothing appeared to help him get in better shape. Given that Van de Beek’s alternatives also include his old club Ajax, the Red Devils are glad to let him go because they no longer believe he has a future with the organization.

They were discussing a potential loan move for the Dutchman with Real Sociedad and are even receptive to the idea. He was reportedly linked to Genoa as well, but GFFN now claims that Manchester United has accepted a loan deal from Ligue 1 team Lorient.

Although there are questions about whether Van de Beek wants the transfer, it demonstrates that Manchester United are willing to let go of the £36 million playmaker as soon as possible. Fabrizio Romano acknowledged that Sociedad’s bid was rejected by the Red Devils, but the Dutchman hasn’t spoken to Lorient or Genoa.

Therefore, even if the rumors about Manchester United accepting an offer are true, any transfer to Lorient might not actually happen. The Red Devils have already begun negotiations with Fiorentina for Sofyan Amrabat, so they want to make room on their roster for new recruits.

Given that he might not sign with Lorient or Genoa, Van de Beek could now consider other offers for him. If he is unable to move during this window, he might view a move to the French side as a step down from his current environment and perhaps consider fighting for his position.

The Dutchman might even leave if some other teams, including those from England, make a last-minute rush to recruit him on a loan.
