EDWARDS TO TEMPT ALONSO TO LIVERPOOL BY CAPTURING STAR DUO
Michael Edwards is eager to demonstrate Xabi Alonso how serious they are about luring the Bayer Leverkusen coach to Liverpool this summer, after allegations surfaced that they had opened talks on deals for two players for a combined €120 million.

Everything will change at Anfield this summer when Jurgen Klopp bids an emotional farewell after nearly nine years in charge and earning legendary status on Merseyside.

Alonso is the top candidate to succeed him as manager, but attracting him to Liverpool is difficult, especially given his commitment to Bayer Leverkusen‘s quest for a first Bundesliga title.

There’s also the minor matter of Bayern Munich vying for the Spaniard, and it’s been speculated that Alonso may see the opportunity to coach Liverpool as too early in his career.

Nonetheless, TEAMtalk has discovered that Liverpool has offered Alonso a three-year agreement, which he can sign when he is ready.

And, in a further effort to demonstrate their devotion to him, it has been stated that they have now initiated talks on agreements for two players Alonso is anxious to bring to Anfield and who would be ideal first signings as Liverpool manager.

First, it is claimed that the Reds have begun talks to recruit Lille’s talented young star Leny Yoro.

He will be free to leave the Ligue 1 club this summer after established himself as one of Europe’s greatest young defenders. To that purpose, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Real Madrid have all been linked with his signing.

However, Marca believes Yoro is Alonso‘s ‘number one request’ if he takes over at Anfield, and that talks have begun on a potential €60 million (£51.4 million) move.

Liverpool opens discussions regarding Donyell Malen signing.
The Reds have also been connected with Piero Hincapie, although Alonso appears to favour a transfer for Yoro over his current Leverkusen star. Jorge Mendes, a super agent, represents France’s Under-21 international.
Liverpool are also interested in signing Donyell Malen this summer, with reports claiming Borussia Dortmund will sell to bankroll a deal for Jadon Sancho.

The Netherlands winger has 13 goals and five assists in 33 matches this summer and is said to be a potential Liverpool target for Alonso.

Bild now claims that talks have already taken place about taking the former PSV man to Anfield, and that BVB will not stand in the way of a sale if they can achieve their €60 million asking price and use those funds to try to sign Sancho, who is currently on loan at the Westfalenstadion, on a permanent basis from Manchester United.

Meanwhile, the Reds regard the 25-year-old Malen as a potential right flank replacement for Mo Salah, who could leave for Saudi Arabia in what would be a club record transfer.

And, given Edwards’ experience selling assets for the highest possible price, he’s now reportedly stated that a large portion of that windfall will be spent on bringing two players Alonso would like to work with to Anfield.

Malen, who was originally on Arsenal’s books before going to PSV, believes he still has unfinished business in England and is willing to move to Anfield if the two sides can reach an agreement.
