He claims he turned out a £2.2 million move to a Championship opponent earlier this summer in favour of Leeds.

Edouard Michut, a PSG prospect who spent the 2022–23 season on loan at Sunderland, is apparently being pursued by Leeds United. When asked in June about a potential permanent move to Sunderland, Michut had the following response.

Last year, Michut, 20, participated in 28 league and cup games for Sunderland, helping Tony Mowbray‘s team go to the Championship Playoff Semifinals before falling to Luton. a group that also included Joe Gelhardt and Jack Clarke.

According to GFFN, Sunderland had the opportunity to permanently sign Michut, a player with France U19 caps, for just £2.2 million. But because that did not occur, he has now joined the Ligue 1 champions. Now, another action is anticipated.

Last night, Fabrizio Romano revealed in an exclusive on Twitter that Leeds are one of the clubs interested in signing Michut. He said in June that he had made the decision not to work for Sunderland permanently.
Michut stated to L’Equipe in June, “The club offered me to stay.” “I have chosen not to remain at Sunderland. On a few contractual areas, we couldn’t come to an agreement. Additionally, there were several concerns about the strategy that I didn’t agree with.
“In this pattern, I’m just touching 50 to 60 balls at most. Normally, I touch 80 to 100 balls per game. Michut stated, “I thank the president for understanding my decision not to stay,” being open about a change.

What Michut stated regarding a permanent move to Sunderland has Leeds interested.
He is a player who obviously knows what he wants. At age 20, one might question his mindset and blame Tony Mowbray’s playing style for his inability to really take off at the Stadium of Light.

But if what he claims is true and he prefers to control the ball in midfield, a move to c, where Leeds will be among the best teams in the league, would be the correct choice for Michut. He probably won’t start for Leeds.
