Wilfred Ndidi, a defensive midfielder for Leicester City, has now received an opening offer from Nottingham Forest to join them this summer.
The Reds are hoping to complete a deal before Friday, when the transfer window closes.
The Reds have reportedly intensified their efforts to sign the player, according to Fabrizio Romano. After failing in their attempts to sign other defensive midfielders, Forest will move forward with the deal.
Ndidi previously battled injury issues, but he is now back to full fitness. The 26-year-old has been a member of Leicester since January 2017, when he transferred from Belgian team Genk.
The defensive midfielder has participated in each of Leicester’s four Championship games this year. In the first round of the Carabao Cup against Burton Albion and last night against Tranmere, Leicester won thanks in part to his goals.
Ndidi has appeared 242 times for the Foxes in total, contributing 12 goals and 12 assists to the team’s tally. Additionally, he has 51 Nigerian caps and has previously played with Taiwo Awoniyi.
