The former Premier League pair were discussing the weekend’s contentious game, which was dominated by VAR’s decision to overturn Luis Diaz‘s goal.

Carragher and Lampard have spoken out in response to calls from Liverpool fans for the game to be replayed for such a mistake.

The two discussed the situation while speaking for Sky from the MNF studio, but they don’t believe that a replay is the best course of action in this case.

I fail to see it. Since they have apologised so many times since VAR was introduced, I’m not sure what the consequences of it would be. This is really factual, and the circumstances behind the error are difficult to comprehend, stated Lampard.

“I disagree that a replay should be allowed. I don’t think that, said Carragher.

Everyone must proceed.

Replaying the entire game over would be absurd. Yes, it was a startling mistake that the officials shouldn’t have made.

But it makes no sense to restart a game because an offside call was incorrect.

In spite of the fact that this was a horrible game, if we did that, other teams would have plenty of excuses over the years to request game replays.

Everyone needs to get moving right away and finish this. There will undoubtedly be another VAR call to discuss by the time the next match rolls around, and this one will be forgotten.
