star in his Telegraph column, comparing him to two Spurs great.

Maddison looks like the prototype Spurs player, following in the traditions of Paul Gascoigne and Glenn Hoddle – an individual who puts a smile on supporters’ faces.”

Carragher lavishes praise on Maddison, and rightly so, given the England international’s slow start with the Lilywhites.

Is James Maddison going to be the next Hoddle or Gascoigne?

Gascoigne and Hoddle, who both spent time at Tottenham, were regarded as the most inventive and exciting talents of their eras, dazzling audiences with their performances.

Maddison appears to have restored the North London club’s air of expectation, which has been lacking since Christian Eriksen’s departure in January 2020.

Not just Carragher, but Maddison has won over many Tottenham fans with his obvious talent and love for the North London club. Spurs’ number 10 will hopefully maintain his hot streak for years and assist the North London club end their trophy drought.
