According to Football Insider, Leeds United are poised to make an offer for Northern Irish striker Jack Hastings.
The Whites, along with Crystal Palace, Wolves, and Southampton, have been linked with the 17-year-old, as Football Insider revealed earlier this month (19 December).
However, sources have told Football Insider that the Elland Road club is prepared to start up formal efforts to sign him.
Hastings has piqued the curiosity of Premier League and Championship clubs, with scouts from these clubs keeping a close eye on his progress.
The 2006-born teenager is on the outskirts of first-team action at Northern Ireland top-flight club Larne, where he has routinely trained alongside experienced players.
The forward has impressed at the under-18 and under-20 levels, and he can play as a solo striker or as part of a pair.
He has represented his country at the under-17 level and appeared in three of their European Championship qualification games in March.
Larne is aware of the high level of interest in Hastings and is preparing for offers.
According to Football Insider (26 December), Daniel Farke’s team will lose one of their most promising young players, Finley Gorman, to a record-breaking move to Premier League champions Manchester City.
Leeds slid to fourth in the Championship league after a 2-1 Boxing Day defeat to Preston North End, eight points below the automatic promotion spots.
