Leeds United defeats Middlesbrough 4-3, and Paddy Kenny loses his cool at Sky Sports

In a thrilling Championship encounter, Leeds United defeated Middlesbrough 4-3; Paddy Kenny claimed he had to turn off Sky Sports’ broadcast of the game.

At the Riverside Stadium, Leeds and Middlesbrough engaged in a thrilling seven-goal encounter. However, 38 minutes into the game, Kenny wrote on X, implying that the Sky commentators were putting him to sleep. By the time Kenny posted, there had been four goals and the score was tied at 2-2.

A frenetic first half was capped off just minutes later when Wilfried Gnonto gave Leeds a 3-2 lead. But Kenny expressed his dissatisfaction with Pien Meulensteen and Andy Hinchcliffe’s commentary duo on Sky, saying, “Had to mute the TV for this Middlesbrough vs Leeds match.”

Leeds triumphs over Middlesbrough to resume the promotion chase.

Despite Kenny turning off his personal TV, Leeds United defeated Middlesbrough to reclaim their place in the top two of the Championship. The match created a great excitement at the Riverside Stadium as goals were scored in all directions.

For extended stretches, Leeds had the upper hand, but as has been the case recently in a bad run of play, they were prone to defensive lapses that allowed Middlesbrough to score all three of their goals. But Leeds’ bad run of play seems to be ended as the Whites’ assault finally found its groove again, scoring three very well-executed goals in addition to a crisp penalty from Crysencio Summerville.

Leeds was behind 1-0 until the Dutchman’s penalty kick turned the score around. Gnonto then scored Leeds’ third goal six minutes before halftime, after Emmanuel Latte Lath had made it too easy for Illan Meslier to equalise for Boro against the run of play.

With a spectacular curling finish after a free-flowing Leeds move, Summerville’s second goal sent him and his teammates hurtling towards a boisterous away end. Knowing the Whites’ travelling fan base, you’d imagine by then, Kenny had removed his fingers from his ears.
