On Wednesday night, Leeds United will host QPR at Elland Road in a Championship match.
Leeds United have no new injuries to worry about ahead of their Championship match against QPR at Elland Road, but they will be without four first-team players.
Junior Firpo, Djed Spence, Willy Gnonto, and Stuart Dallas are all expected to miss the game as they continue their separate injury recoveries.
Firpo is out with a hip injury, and Spence is sidelined until November with a knee injury. Gnonto recently had ankle ligament surgery, and Dallas is still recovering from a damaged femur.
“Willy and Djed everything is on track, recovering nicely but won’t rejoin before the international break,” Whites boss Daniel Farke said of his squad’s injuries.
“Firpo will also be returning to team training after the international break.” Stuart Dallas has already joined us in team training, but he had to return to individual training in the last few days, so he’ll be back in a few days. There was a minor setback in training, so he had to return to individual rehab, but he will return to team training in one or two days.
“It’s good that he’s so close; it’s always good to see him back on the training pitch.” It’ll be a few weeks before he’s considered for selection. A couple minor injuries [from Southampton], but no new ones. They are all available.”
Meanwhile, QPR defender Morgan Fox is expected to miss Wednesday’s game after suffering a knee injury against Coventry City last weekend. The defender was taken out after only five minutes of Saturday’s defeat, and QPR manager Gareth Ainsworth admits he is unlikely to play against Leeds.
“He limped off in quite a bad way, he has jarred his knee,” he explained. We’ll look into it and make a decision about Morgan, but it opens the door for other people, which is perfect timing.
“If Morgan is unavailable, we have some good options and will proceed from there.” I was devastated to see him leave since he was so important to the game. We must take care of Morgan and return him as soon as possible.”
Jimmy Dunne will return to the team for the Elland Road encounter after missing every game this season due to a shoulder injury sustained in pre-season, while Jack Colback is back after serving a three-game suspension following a red card against Sunderland last month.
