Daniel Farke, the manager of Leeds United, has expressed his satisfaction with Joe Rodon’s performances and stated that the centre-back will remain at the club beyond the January transfer window.
According to the Evening Standard, Rodon‘s transfer to Leeds is a pure loan with no option or obligation to buy.
Unlike his previous season at Rennes, where he struggled for playing time, the Welshman appears to be thriving at Leeds, where he has established himself as a vital member of the club’s backline.
The 26-year-old’s career has clearly stagnated at Spurs over the last three years, but based on the glowing accolades he has received this season, he appears to be reviving his career.
Joe Rodon of Tottenham Hotspur is thriving with Leeds United.
Rodon played the entire 90 minutes of Leeds’ 2-1 win over Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, and his performance was praised by Leeds Live, who gave him a 9 out of 10 rating.
“Tremendous,” the outlet said of the center-back. As the strain mounted in the final quarter of the game, he came into his own. Jamie Vardy was reduced to a spectator in the first half. In the second period, there were some tremendous slides, blocks, and clearances.”
Farke also discussed Rodon after the game, stating that he is delighted with the former Swansea man’s progress.
“Joe will stay with us (after January),” Farke told the Yorkshire Evening Post. He’s a key part of my strategy, and it’s critical that we maintain stability.
“I am pleased and pleased with his development; he must continue, and that is critical.” So far, so good, but the following game is always the most important. We need to make sure we’re there with solid performances, and he’s been fantastic so far.”
Our Opinion
Even if Leeds do not regain their Premier League status, Rodon will be a target for a number of top-flight clubs next summer if he continues to produce at his current level.
