Predicting Coventry City’s next two high-profile exits.

FLW has identified two Coventry City players who could be the club’s next high-profile departures.

This season, Coventry City will seek to contend for a place in the Premier League.

The Sky Blues have been on an incredible journey in recent years, coming within seconds of achieving something miraculous last season.

Coventry reached the play-off final following a fantastic season but fell short against Luton Town, thus the club’s goal under Mark Robins will be to take the next step.

Coventry lost some significant players over the summer, as is typically the case when a team plays well, with Viktor Gyokeres and Gustavo Hamer both departing.

They were two players who were extremely essential in all the squad accomplished, and their sluggish start to the new season demonstrates that their departure is a blow.

While the club hopes that this does not happen again, we at Football League World have looked at two players who might be the next big money departures…

Milan Van Ewijk

Coventry fans will be disappointed, given van Ewijk only joined the club this summer.

However, the 23-year-old has joined the Sky Blues with a bright future ahead of him, and he has already adjusted in well to life in the Championship.

Van Ewijk has demonstrated throughout his tenure in the Netherlands that he can be a true force from right-back, as he has contributed to goals and assists.

The defender has started six of the seven games in which he has been available, and he has already scored his first goal for the club.

The Championship club did spent some money on the player, so if he were to be sold, the club would expect a sizable return.

Attacking full-backs or wing-backs are popular right now, which could mean he demands a high fee in a future window.

He still has a long way to go to truly prove and establish himself, but if he continues on this good path, he might be someone top-flight clubs are interested in in a year or two.

Callum O'Hare

This may seem like a simple decision, given O’Hare has been tipped for huge things since his breakout season with Coventry.

He has proven to be a very skilled player since joining the club in 2020, and has been compared to former Aston Villa teammate Jack Grealish at times.

Injuries have curtailed his career at the club, and he is now out injured, but when he has played for the club, he has consistently found himself at the top of the pitch.

In his stint with the Sky Blues, the 25-year-old has 12 goals and 26 assists. He is a player with all the tools to make it to the top and will no doubt have teams taking notice once he is fit and firing for Coventry.

The player’s injuries will be difficult to recover from, but O’Hare will be anxious to prove his worth to his team when he returns.
