Reports: The Midfielder’s preference is to sign a contract with Leeds United but other clubs have made proposals.

According to the Mail, Adam Forshaw wants to stay at Leeds United this summer despite interest from Saudi Arabia, other Championship clubs, and European clubs – but the midfielder has recently become a free agent.

After five and a half years at Leeds, Forshaw, 31, has left on a free transfer. He only appeared in 91 games for Leeds throughout that time, due to injury. His contract has now expired, but he has been asked back for pre-season.

According to Phil Hay, an offer is on the table for Forshaw, but he has yet to sign it, with the amount reflecting his injury concerns since 2018. According to the Mail, Forshaw has received an offer from newly promoted Saudi Arabian team Al-Akhdoud.

European and Championship clubs are also interested. So Forshaw must make a choice. However, according to the article, his priority is to stay at Elland Road, which means he will need to sign a new contract. But the clock is ticking.

Despite Saudi Arabia’s interest in Adam Forshaw, Leeds need midfielders first and foremost. Weston McKennie and Marc Roca are no longer with the team. Tyler Adams remains, but teams are expected to bid for the USA captain, and an exit is possible. Ethan Ampadu joins for a price of £7 million.

Archie Grey and Darko Gyabi will join, while Lew Bate and Jamie Shackleton return from loan spells at Oxford and Millwall, respectively. But Leeds require depth, experience, and a player with Championship promotion experience. So, Forshaw.

Even if he does not start, having Forshaw on the bench is a good idea. Off the pitch, he has a first-rate attitude, and he is fantastic in the locker room. He is familiar with Leeds. It’s a no-brainer to keep Forshaw, even if he’s just signed for a year.
