‘Smart movement’: Daniel Farke thinks one Leeds man was ‘crucial to win on Saturday, just his third start

Daniel Farke believes Glen Kamara was ‘crucial’ in Leeds United’s victory over Bristol City on Saturday.

Farke was speaking in his post-match press conference after Leeds won consecutive games for the first time in nearly a year.

Kamara was an unused replacement in Leeds‘ 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers in midweek, but he was inserted right away against the Robins.

The 27-year-old was instrumental in Leeds’ first goal of the afternoon, with an initial move in midfield creating space for the Whites to attack.

When that first failed, Kamara was quick to recover the ball in Bristol City‘s area, where Georginio Rutter‘s cross eventually found its way to Dan James, who scored.

Farke described Kamara as ‘crucial’ to Leeds’ victory.

Farke claims Kamara‘s passing ‘between the lines’ was ‘crucial’ to breaking down a’solid team like Bristol City‘ after the game.

“I’m always capable of finding the passes between the lines,” he remarked. Bristol City must be rock strong in these circumstances. We had the notion we wanted Glen Kamara back on the pitch after he didn’t play on Wednesday. First goal, clever movement to find Piroe, then fantastic strike to score off the counter. It is also critical.”

Kamara was making his third appearance for Leeds since joining from Rangers in the summer, and it was without a doubt his best in a white shirt thus far.

After looking accomplished against Watford, Kamara appeared more secure dribbling and passing the ball, which was crucial.

Leeds have lots of options in the centre of midfield, but his performance today may have cemented his position for the time being.
