According to Football Insider, Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion have joined Rangers in their pursuit of Millwall defender Jake Cooper.
The 28-year-old centre-back is in the final year of his contract with the London side, and his admirers are expecting to snag him for a bargain.
Rangers have long been interested in the former Reading man, and as Football Insider revealed on August 11, they have made contact about a potential trade.
Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion have both expressed an interest in signing Cooper as the hunt for his signature heats up this month.
He has impressed at Millwall after arriving permanently from Reading in 2017 after a good loan spell in 2016-17.
The centre-back was crucial in the Lions’ surprising promotion push last season, as they almost missed out on the playoffs.
Cooper appeared in 46 games in all competitions, scoring three goals and assisting on three others.
He’s had a similar start to the season, appearing in all three of Millwall’s games so far.
The Bracknell-born striker has made 300 appearances for the Bermondsey club during a five-year period, scoring 22 goals and contributing 17 assists.
Following the injury of captain Liam Cooper, Football Insider disclosed on August 11 that Leeds are looking for a replacement centre-back.
West Brom are also looking for a new central defender having losing Dara O’Shea to Burnley earlier in the transfer season.
