It has recently been widely stated that Ange Postecoglou‘s top objective coming into the January transfer window is to sign a centre-back (The Athletic).

Inacio, who has established as one of the best centre defenders in the Portuguese top flight in recent years, is considered to be on Spurs‘ wishlist, along with (Fabrizio Romano – CaughtOffside).

Liverpool, Manchester United, and Arsenal have all been linked with the 22-year-old, and it has been stated in recent weeks that Sporting will only allow him leave if his £52 million release clause is satisfied (Jornal de Noticias via Sport Witness).

Sporting’s position on Inacio has softened as a result of Spurs links.
TEAMtalk claims that the Portuguese club has reduced their asking price for Inacio and is now willing to sell the player for just £39 million.

The publication makes no mention of Tottenham, instead portraying the news as a significant boost to Liverpool’s prospects of signing the centre-back.

Spurs Online Opinion

I’m curious if the decrease in Inacio‘s asking price will inspire Tottenham to shift their focus away from Jean-Clair Todibo and Radu Dragusin and back to the Sporting star.

Spurs may have an ace up their sleeve in the form of Eric Dier, whom they may sell to the Portuguese club to sweeten the deal.
