The FA’s decision ahead of the Brighton game dealt Nottingham Forest another severe blow.

The Football Association has punished Nottingham Forest and first-team coach

with misconduct following a disagreement with referee Paul Tierney at the end of Saturday’s Premier League match against Liverpool.

Reid was sent off after entering the pitch to remonstrate with Tierney at the end of the match, which Forest lost 1-0 thanks to a Darwin Nunez goal in stoppage time.
Forest’s referee analyst Mark Clattenburg stated that the club was “aggrieved” by Tierney’s mistaken decision to award a dropped ball to Liverpool in the Reds’ penalty area rather than to Forest, who were in possession in an offensive area when play was paused for Ibrahima Konate’s head injury.

Reid is accused of using abusive and/or disrespectful language against Tierney, which resulted in his dismissal, and of acting inappropriately after being told off. Forest has been charged with failing to guarantee correct behavior among their players and technical staff. Reid and the club have until March 13 to respond to the charges.

It is understood that no further action would be taken against anyone else in Forest. The club denied claims that its owner, Evangelos Marinakis, had to be held after chasing Tierney down the tunnel after the final whistle, but did say he approached the referee.
Forest, who sit 17th in the Premier League, face Brighton this Sunday at the Amex Stadium.
