Spurs’ 2024–25 English Premier League campaign has yielded a mixed bag of results thus far. The team has drawn frustratingly 1–1 at Leicester, defeated Everton 4-0 at home, and then lost 2-1 at Newcastle despite having the upper hand at St James’ Park.

The Premier League released a tonne of statistics this week, and Tottenham’s players are tied for third place in the major categories of goals and assists thanks to two goals and two assists from James Maddison, the team’s captain.

In addition, Spurs can claim the second-fastest player in the Premier League thus far this season—and no, it’s not Dutch center-back Micky van de Ven, who won the competition’s last race. Timo Werner, a German winger, has the highest speed recorded thus far in the campaign, with 35.69 km/h. The only player to beat him was Erling Haaland of Manchester City, whose speed of 35.74 km/h was ever so slightly quicker.

Son made a second appearance in a different category, sharing second place with 40% of his shots in the shot conversion rate from more than five shots. He was level with Jhon Duran of Aston Villa and Joao Pedro of Brighton. Haaland and Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford tied for first place in that category with 50%.

Cristian Romero of Tottenham is ranked sixth in the category of defenders with the most passes completed, having completed 226 successful passes. Manuel Akanji of City is first with 289 points. Romero has nine tackles won this season in the Premier League, which ties him for second place. Abdul Fatawu of Leicester and Antonee Robinson of Fulham are first with twelve.

With three through balls played, the vice captain of Tottenham is tied for second place in the league in through ball statistics, with Martin Odegaard of Arsenal leading the way with four.

In the successful crosses category, Maddison makes another appearance, placing sixth with six. Dwight McNeil of Everton leads the way with 13.

Since the season progresses, Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou will be hoping that his players continue to rank highly in several areas, since this would indicate that the team is progressing in the correct direction as a whole.
