Tottenham ‘would adore’ £70 million striker dubbed ‘one of the best attackers in the world’ by journalist

Tottenham Hotspur have just over a week to complete the acquisition of a new forward.

The Spurs did sign Alejo Veliz earlier this summer, but he appears to be a long-term option. Tottenham might use a reinforcement who can hit the ground running after selling Harry Kane. Spurs have been linked with a number of players, including Gift Orban and Jonathan David. Tottenham would want to bring Lautaro Martinez to N17, according to Ben Jacobs.

According to the transfer expert, who spoke on CaughtOffside, Spurs are great fans of the Inter Milan captain.

However, Jacobs feels Martinez‘s team is unlikely to agree to a transfer.

He then dismisses reports tying Tottenham to Dusan Vlahovic.

Nonetheless, Jacobs says that the Spurs are not concerned about this particular assignment. He believes they will hire someone by September.

“Spurs would love Lautaro Martinez, but Inter have been telling suitors all summer that he’s not for sale,” he explained.

“I also don’t think Spurs will pursue Dusan Vlahovic, despite some summer speculation.”

“What is clear is that Postecoglou does not want to buy in a panic.”

“And the type of profile he seeks differs from the type of players Paratici sought when Antonio Conte was still at the club.”

“That’s why replacing Kane directly (if that’s even possible!) may take some time.”

“I believe Spurs will sign a striker in the final days of the transfer window.”

“But the question is whether they save some of that Kane fee to wait for a marquee signing in the coming windows, or whether they spend big now.”

Tottenham is in a pickle.

The entire football world is aware that Tottenham has profited handsomely from the sale of Kane.

As a result, clubs with players coveted by Tottenham could try to squeeze out a few extra million.

Furthermore, replacing Kane will be difficult because he is one of the best strikers in the world.

This is also something that has been expressed about Martinez previously. No less than former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Lautaro Martinez is one of the best strikers in the world,” he stated, according to football.london.

“Not just for what he does now, but for what his potential means in the future.” When it comes to hitmen for the big teams, his name needs to be on the list.”

Martinez has apparently been valued at £70 million, which is a hefty sum. And that’s before Inter declares him unavailable for transfer.

Tottenham have a lot to think about in terms of reinforcing their forward ranks over the next week and a half.

We believe Spurs will aim for someone like Orban for around £20-30 million for the time being, then search for a huge long-term target in January or summer.
