£46m Tottenham Hotspur player acknowledges that other teams sought to sign him this summer.

Cristian Romero, a Tottenham Hotspur defender, has confessed he has had offers to quit the club this summer.

Romero discussed his preparations for the next season in an interview with Football London.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou was denied another opportunity to watch Cristian Romero play this week.

Romero was scheduled to start opposite Ben Davies against Leicester City on Sunday, but the game was called off due to a flooded ground.

Romero is expected to be Postecoglou‘s starting center-back when the Premier League resumes next month.

Spurs are still looking for at least one defender to potentially accompany him.

Romero, on the other hand, has stated that he has had offers to leave Tottenham this summer.
The £46m defender has only been a permanent member of the club for a year after coming on loan.

Tottenham could earn a substantial profit on him if they were to sell him, but it would make little sense.

Romero has admitted that he has had offers to quit Tottenham.
“If I didn’t feel the same passion [for Spurs as I do for Argentina], I would look to leave the club,” Romero stated of his future with Football London.

“Obviously, I’m not happy with how last season ended for me, and as I’ve said before, I’m the first to hold my hands up and say it wasn’t the best season, but when I got offers from other clubs to move away for this coming season, I said no because I want to have my best years here.”

Many Tottenham Hotspur fans will be relieved that their top center-back will not be moving this summer.

Tottenham is currently trying hard to bring in another defender to play with him.
Both Edmond Tapsoba and Micky Van de Ven have been touted as ideal contenders to replace him.

Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo, who seems to be available this summer, is also being pursued.

Clement Lenglet, who spent last season on loan at Tottenham, might potentially return to the club.

Even though Romero has received offers to leave Tottenham, it is unlikely that he will take them.

Spurs will need the Argentinian to be at his best if they are to progress.
