A WREXHAM AFC star has launched a new charity role aimed at combating food poverty in the community.
Wrexham AFC player Elliot Lee has recently announced his new role as an ambassador for the charity ‘Dom’s FOOD mission.’Dom Warren created the organization in 2015 with the goal of preventing extra goods from going to waste and feeding the most fortunate.Elliot announced the news on Twitter, saying, “I am very proud and excited to become an ambassador for the charity.Helping to generate awareness and support for the ‘Boot Hunger Out’ football movement.Through the beautiful game, we will help to feed as many people as possible, especially children.
The nonprofit is ecologically sustainable and helps the community by distributing 4,500 meals every week to individuals experiencing food poverty.Dom’s Mission has saved 200 metric tons of food from garbage in the last two years by redirecting it to the local community, amounting to 500,000 meals.
The combination has ecstatic AFC fans. “Wonderful cause,” commented Annette Gardner on Twitter. Hopefully, between this and the foodbank activities, no one in Wrexham will go hungry.”
