Leeds United are currently attempting to sign Glen Kamara from Glasgow Rangers, despite competition from other Championship clubs.
TEAMtalk reports that all of Leeds, Coventry, and Middlesbrough have conducted conversations with the 27-year-old.
Kamara has fallen out of favour with Rangers, and manager Michael Beale has stated that he is free to leave.
And, with the sale of Tyler Adams to Bournemouth, Leeds are said to be pushing the strongest of all clubs interested.
Daniel Farke‘s squad is severely lacking in central midfield depth, and it would be a great surprise if no acquisitions are made.
Ethan Ampadu and Archie Grey have had a good start to the season, with Grey doing admirably for a 17-year-old, but additional bodies will be required.
Farke had the bench options of Darko Gyabi, Lewis Bate, and Sam Greenwood against West Brom.
And it’s telling that Sam Greenwood, 21, appears to be the more experienced candidate.
Leeds require a quick fix, and the availability of Rangers‘ Kamara could be ideal.
Leeds are attempting to acquire Rangers midfielder Kamara, Gretar Steinsson, who has been tasked with overseeing the club’s return to the Premier League.
And ‘excellent’ Glen Kamara appears to be a viable alternative.
Although he has fallen out of favour, Kamara, 27, would offer a wealth of experience to the team.
Along with 52 caps for Finland, Kamara has been a key member of a Rangers team that has competed in both the Champions League and the Europa League.
According to the article, Kamara is now eager to return to England.
Kamara left Arsenal in 2017 and joined Rangers in 2019.
Rangers’ Kamara is thought to be Daniel Farke’s first preference target, however Jonjo Shelvey is also a possibility.
Leeds clearly require new players, and possibly two midfielders would be preferable to one.
