Tottenham may add four defenders before the transfer deadline as Ange Postecoglou rebuilds his squad.

Ange Postecoglou is still rebuilding his Tottenham squad after Harry Kane left to join Bayern Munich this summer.

Tottenham is still hunting for a defender before the summer transfer window closes next week. Following Antonio Conte’s departure last season, Ange Postecoglou has already welcomed six new players to the club and modified Spurs’ play style.James Maddison, Micky Van de Ven, Guglielmo Vicario, Alejo Veliz, Ashley Phillips, and Manor Solomon have all joined the club, as have loanees Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro. Harry Kane’s stint at N17 ended just a day before the start of the new Premier League season, as the England captain joined Bayern Munich.

 

With Kane gone, Postecoglou is hopeful that Richarlison, Son Heung-min, Maddison, and Kulusevski can share the burden of scoring goals this season. However, Spurs still need to strengthen their defense before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.Van de Ven, Porro, and Destiny Udogie have all been called up ahead of Vicario to form a new-look defense. Torino defender Perr Schuurs could be on his way to the Premier League, with Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Liverpool all interested. The 23-year-old just joined the Italian club last summer from Ajax for around £7.7 million, but he has excelled enough to be linked with a move to England’s top division.The Italian club is eager to begin negotiations for the Netherlands international for €20-25 million (£17-£21.3 million), while Liverpool claimed €40 million (£35 million) after their rejected attempt. Schuurs appeared in 36 games for Torino last season, scoring one goal and assisting on two others.

His ball ability and physicality would suit Postecoglou’s tactics, and he is now regarded as Spurs’ most concrete option.
