‘I feel  sorry for him’: Jamie O’hara defends what is all over social media about tottenham star

Jamie O’Hara says he ‘feels awful’ for Richarlison after the Tottenham Hotspur winger was criticised for crying during Brazil’s 5-1 triumph over Bolivia.

Social media then shared photographs of Richarlison crying on the bench after being substituted in a World Cup qualifier on Friday, but O’Hara praised the player’s “passion.”

It’s not the first time Tottenham’s club-record signing has reacted in this manner, with O’Hara telling talkSPORT that all Richarlison wants to do is perform well at club and international level.

Ever since the 26-year-old switched from Everton to Tottenham last summer, the player has struggled.

He still only has one Premier League goal to his name for the London club, and he witnessed Brazil’s dismal exit from the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Overall, it appears that the 45-cap Brazil star merely needs some luck, with O’Hara defending the player’s reputation.

“I have to talk about Richarlison,” O’Hara stated. “He’s been all over Twitter and stuff.” He was replaced during Brazil’s 5-1 triumph over Bolivia. I believe he blew a golden opportunity and was taken off the pitch, where he was in tears on the bench.

“I truly saw that. “I kind of feel sorry for him,” I added. He is a player that is out of shape. I’m having trouble finding the back of the net. But his enthusiasm for his sport. He wants to achieve well for Tottenham as well as for Brazil.

“You see a lot of players out there who don’t give a monkey’s about how they play and just pick up a pay cheque.” He’s crying on the bench because he can’t score.”

Pressure mounting on Richarlison

It’s all well and well to feel sorry for the player, but it won’t cover up his bad performances because he needs to start delivering sooner rather than later.

RicharlisonTottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has already dropped him, with Son Heung-min playing down the middle and scoring a hat-trick against Burnley.

Brennan Johnson has now entered the building. If Richarlison does not improve his form soon, another player will move ahead of him in Tottenham’s pecking order.
