Jurgen Klopp plots a new transfer swoop after outbidding competitors to seal the deal

Before welcoming Ajax to Anfield in the Champions League on Tuesday, Liverpool must deal with a number of injury issues, and manager Jurgen Klopp is considering a January transfer swoop

Although the Reds’ season hasn’t gotten off to the start Jurgen Klopp would have liked it to, they can quickly turn things around when Ajax visits on Tuesday.

Following several subpar Premier League performances, last week’s defeat at Napoli has drawn a lot of criticism, but Klopp will be eager to resume winning ways despite juggling a worsening injury crisis.

At Anfield, weathering the current storm will take precedence, but the Reds’ manager might still have an eye on January if the right player becomes available.

In light of this, Mirror Football has compiled the most recent Liverpool news here.

Another person approaches the physio’s table as Klopp is extending the players’ welcome back.

This time, it’s full-back Andy Robertson who has a minor ailment that will at the very least keep him from playing against Ajax and possibly other games.

Kostas Tsimikas, a Greek international, is available for Klopp to use to fill the void left by Robertson, and he will be eager to perform, but his manager will still be left grieving another cruel blow.

Liverpool may be planning a surprising trade in order to sign Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa during the January transfer window.

The Brazilian midfielder, whose contract expires at the end of the current campaign, nearly moved from Villa to Arsenal on deadline day. Liverpool may now overtake the Gunners in the race to sign him, but Villa are still willing to sell to avoid losing him for nothing.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s contract at Anfield is also set to expire in June, and recent reports indicate that he may leave the club. Klopp needs to bolster his midfield.

Liverpool is attempting to sign Luiz before Arsenal does, while Manchester United and Chelsea are still licking their wounds from similar losses to their Merseyside rivals.

When Liverpool moved to sign youngster Stefan Bajcetic before the Brexit-enforced change in EU regulations, both clubs were caught off guard.

As Bajcetic, 17, is already a part of Klopp’s plans and impresses Liverpool coaches with his development, the deal now appears to be paying off.
