Spurs and Chelsea received wonderkid transfer lifeline as deal is sealed

Tottenham and Chelsea provide surprising Nusa transfer lifeline as thrilling agreement is achieved.

Chelsea and Spurs might still sign one of the most wanted youngsters in Europe this month, even if Brentford are apparently leading the transfer race.

Tottenham and Chelsea‘s chances of signing Antonio Nusa have been significantly boosted. The 18-year-old forward’s strong performances for Club Brugge have recently led to speculation about a move to the Premier League.

Antonio Nusa

Antonio Nusa, whose contract at the Jan Breydel Stadium expires in 2027, has made 16 appearances in the Belgian top flight this season, scoring three goals and contributing two assists. Despite averaging only 45 minutes per game, the Norway international has piqued the interest of several major clubs in Europe.

According to The Athletic, Brentford has reached a deal with Brugge to sign Nusa and is currently working to seal the adolescent sensation’s transfer. However, the source emphasises that until a signature is on the dotted line, the deal is not complete, with Spurs and Chelsea keeping an eye on it.

According to football.london, Tottenham have spoken with Brugge about a potential transfer and loan back arrangement for Nusa, who is said to want to finish the season in the Belgian top division. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool, among others, are said to have expressed an interest in the adolescent during the last year.

According to sources in Belgium, Brugge may seek up to £30 million for Nusa‘s services this month. It remains to be seen whether the forward will play in the Premier League, but one thing is certain: he will not be deterred by conjecture about his future career.

In an interview with TV2 in September, Nusa was asked about Chelsea‘s summer attitude. He answered, “I had no idea about it. I noticed there was a lot of stuff on my phone. My phone burst following the game. Then I pondered what had happened. Then I realised.

“I already knew it wouldn’t happen, but suddenly the money appeared on the table. Then it’s viewed slightly differently. We had to have another talk when the money arrived, but we were on the same page, so it was no problem. I knew what to do anyway, so everything was good.”

Regarding his proposed price, Nusa added: “I’m in a position where I want the next move, when it comes, to be something I’ve truly thought through. I want to find what is best for myself. It’s crucial to me.

“I think about what’s best for me. It’s a lot of money. A lot of money. But I try to avoid thinking about it too much. I can’t concentrate on it, like. I do not think it is beneficial for me.”
