Tottenham have made contact with Andrea Cambiaso.

The Italian is versatile and can play in both midfield and defense.

According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus have discussed a move for Andrea Cambiaso.

What are the most recent Tottenham transfer rumors?

Prior to the start of the new 2023–24 Premier League season, Spurs and their new manager Ange Postecoglou have been active in the transfer market.
Pedro Porro and Dejan Kulusevski‘s loans from Sporting CP and Juventus, respectively, have been converted into permanent contracts for amounts of €40 million and €30 million. James Maddison has also joined from Leicester City, Guglielmo Vicario, a goalkeeper, has transferred from Empoli, and left-winger Manor Solomon has joined Spurs on a free transfer, bringing the club’s total summer spending to €136 million.

Thoughts of a new center-back are reportedly circulating, there could yet be more to come. Micky van de Ven‘s personal conditions have apparently been settled, but Tottenham and VfL Wolfsburg look to be at odds about a transfer cost of £5 million.

A second full-back, maybe Cambiaso, might be in the cards for the north London team along with a center-back.

In the past 48 hours, Sky Sports Italy provided a Spurs and Cambiaso update, which Sport Witness relayed. According to the article, Tottenham and Juventus have spoken about a possible Cambiaso transfer, although AC Milan is also reportedly interested in the midfielder.

Juventus is said to have given Cambiaso a price tag of €25 million (£21.5 million) and to be unwilling to sell this summer.

Andrea Cambiaso: Who is he?
Cambiaso, who is 23 years old and has a career-high €8 million Transfermarkt valuation, seems to be at the peak of his game. The Italy U21 international moved to Juventus last summer after advancing via Genoa’s system.

Adidas-sponsored Cambiaso spent the previous season on loan with Serie A team Bologna and has yet to make a senior game for Juventus.

Although the player’s primary position is left back, he has played left back, right back, right midfielder, left midfielder, and central midfielder in at least 20 matches, demonstrating the versatility he might provide to Postecoglou’s team.

Despite being described as two-footed by Transfermarkt and not really having a weak foot, Cambiaso was a Serie A regular last season, appearing 32 times for Bologna.

Spurs may find it challenging to consummate any trade, though, given that the player’s agent recently stated that Juventus is 99.9% certain he will stay there this summer.

“It is flattering to be associated with such a significant team as Fiorentina. Nevertheless, based on what we have been informed, he will very certainly return to Juventus and remain there. Bologna is one of few teams who are interested. Juventus, though, has told us that they do not intend to let him go.

He would like to have some playing time, and I think Juventus is a place where he may get it after last season, when he performed to the best of his abilities.

However, it appears that a transfer to north London might be one to watch in the coming weeks, with Spurs making their first step by getting in touch with Cambiaso to learn more about his position.
